ZETEC Non-Ferrous Webinar Category: NDT Posted: Thu, Jun 8th 2017 at 18:42:21 |
![]() Webinar: Improve Non-Ferrous Tubing Inspection Performance and Predictability While Lowering Total Cost of Ownership Many times, inspection components and technologies are selected based on individual performance levels but not evaluated for their combined, synergistic contributions. There are many variables involved in managing an Eddy Current Technology (ECT) inspection that can have a direct effect on inspection integrity and consistency, as well as cost and schedule. An inspection approach that deploys tightly integrated technologies and components can lead to improvements in efficiency and integrity. This can deliver more predictable results with less manpower and higher consistency. This webinar will present a combined system approach that can significantly enhance your inspections. It will demonstrate how a tightly integrated system (including ECT instrumentation, probes, and software) can improve acquisition, analysis and the overall management of an inspection. Join us for a one hour webinar session presented by Tom O’Dell, General Manager of the RevospECT business for Zetec. The webinar will include a question and answer session as well as provide: • An overview of the integrated system • Demonstration of the ease of operation from acquisition to analysis to final reporting • Detailed discussion on the interaction of the components in a combined, synergistic system • Explanation of the RevospECT auto analysis system including system architecture and core principals • Demonstration of how Historical Data Compare (HDC), as a valued added option, can improve the operational assessment of your critical inspection components This webinar can help deliver a competitive advantage for you. You’ll gain an understanding of new ways to improve your non-ferrous ECT tubing inspection performance, while lowering total cost of ownership. Two Sessions Available: June 28 & 29. Register now! NEW AC Power Cord Strap for Mentor Visual iQ Category: NDT Posted: Tue, Mar 7th 2017 at 17:27:53 |
![]() ![]() The Mentor Visual iQ can be powered using a 2-hour battery or AC power. The same AC power cord that is used to power the handset is also used to charge the battery away from the handset. The power cord can sometimes inadvertently disconnect from the battery during operation. The use case involves the borescope technician connecting the MViQ to AC power using a long extension cord and upon moving to different inspection points the power cord sometimes disconnects. In response to this feedback GE IT has developed a very simple but effective solution. This inexpensive nylon strap connects to the power cord and then wraps around the battery to serve as a strain relief. The power cord is then prevented from being disconnected. VULCAN LIBS ANALYZER Category: NDT Posted: Tue, Jan 24th 2017 at 11:07:12 |
![]() ![]() The World’s fastest metals analyser Vulcan, launched by Oxford Instruments Oxford Instruments has launched Vulcan, the fastest metals analyser with the most advanced reporting tools on the market. Vulcan is an ergonomic, balanced handheld LIBS (Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) analyser with a simple user interface. Vulcan has been designed for the rapid identification of a wide range of alloys in manufacturing plants within multiple industries and the scrap metal processing/recycling markets world-wide. Fast, accurate, durable Vulcan is the fastest metals analyser available, taking just one second to measure metal alloys - that’s faster than any XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analyser or any other laser product on the market. In quality control and quality assurance this means that large inventories of incoming raw materials or finished parts can be checked very quickly. Large quantities of scrap metal can be sorted in scrapyards easily and fast. Vulcan offers high performance and guarantees very high accuracy and precision for its analysis results. For example, when analyzing aluminium, it not only provides the commercial grade of aluminium but also its accurate chemical composition. As Vulcan is so simple to operate, possible user error has been significantly reduced if not almost completely eliminated, so the results obtained from analysis will be reliable and consistent. Designed to be rugged and durable, Vulcan is splash water and dust proof (IP54 certified). In addition, Vulcan’s measurement window is protected by strong sapphire glass, meaning no punctured detectors and no expensive repairs. The instrument has been designed to withstand harsh environments and is tough enough to be used in a scrapyard. In fact it is so strongly built that it complies with the MIL-STD-810G military grade standard for ruggedness. Advanced, flexible data management Vulcan uses the most advanced reporting tools on the market. Connection via Wi-Fi, to the Oxford Instruments OiConnect cloud service allows secure storage of results and reports. Alternatively, data can be downloaded to a computer or laptop on a USB stick. This means that all your data including measurement results, measurement tags, camera images and more can be saved in one safe location and accessed from any computer, anytime, from any location. Mikko Järvikivi, Product Manager, Oxford Instruments, said, “Vulcan is a true revolution in the handheld metal analyzer market. It delivers unparalleled speed, ease of use and ruggedness while still providing accurate and precise results for all common alloy types. Vulcan combines Oxford Instruments’ decades of experience in developing mobile and handheld elemental analyzers with our market leading knowledge about handheld LIBS analysis.” Lower cost of ownership - no X-rays XRF analysers require strict licensing and certification for training. As Vulcan is a laser tool, there is no need for staff to attend expensive and time consuming radiation classes meaning that users can start working with Vulcan quickly and easily. Smart cost-effective option Vulcan Smart is a cost-effective option for the identification of steels and nickel alloys. It has been designed for ferrous applications and its performance is limited to stainless steels, tool steels, low alloy steels and nickel alloys. However, Vulcan Smart can be upgraded to include cobalt, copper, lead, tin, titanium and zinc calibrations. Vulcan is available to order now. Contact Non-Destructive Testing Products Limited at sales@ndtproducts.ca or click here for more information. |

Release date: 11/28/2012 Oxford Instruments and NDT Products Ltd. Renew a Former Strategic Alliance for the Sale of the Handheld X-MET7000 Series XRF Analyzers in the PMI and Scrap Metal Markets in Canada.
Concord, MA – November 28, 2012 Oxford Instruments Industrial Analysis, a leading global supplier of high quality instruments used for materials identification and thickness gauging analysis announced a new agreement with NDT Products Ltd. to sell and service the handheld X-MET7000 series XRF analyzers within Canada. Prior to this partnership all service for XRF instruments was handled outside of Canada. With this strategic alignment in place, NDT Products will focus on selling the Oxford Instruments handheld X-MET products exclusively to the Positive Material Identification (PMI) and scrap metal alloy markets.
Oxford Instruments welcomes NDT Products back to the Oxford Instruments family after a brief hiatus. Chris Horvath, Oxford Instrument’s Director of Sales & Marketing XRF Products - Americas, states “We are excited to welcome back NDT Products as our distributor for X-MET products to the PMI and Scrap metal markets throughout Canada. They bring many years of experience and knowledge selling into these markets. They were most recently selling for a major competitor and have decided that Oxford Instruments is the company they want to come back to. We gladly welcome NDT Products back to the Oxford Instruments family and look forward to their success in these key markets.”
NDT Products Ltd. is an exceptional fit for a continued partnership with Oxford Instruments for the X-MET handheld XRF analyzers as they have had over 35 years of experience in the Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Industry. NDT Product’s experienced staff enables them to properly advise Canadian users involved in XRF testing about compliance with Canadian laws and regulations for NDT testing analysis and radiation monitoring. Sean McKernan, President NDT Products states “We have represented Oxford Instruments (formerly Metorex Inc.) since 2000, and, after a brief hiatus, we are glad to be back representing a world class manufacturer like Oxford Instruments. We are prepared to aggressively market and service the XMET line of products to the Canadian PMI and Scrap Metal Markets, and are pleased to be back with Oxford ” NDT Products are ISO 9001:2008 certified for sales, repair and calibration of non destructive examination equipment and supplies. Their recent expansion into the Automotive Market has provided NDT Products Ltd. with Tier 1 approval from the “big three” auto manufacturers.
We are pleased and excited to be back representing the Oxford HHXRF line of products here in Canada. We are prepared to market and sell into the PMI and Scrap Metal markets with a full service center located in St. Catharines, Ontario.
