3D Surface Scanning & Analysis Webinar
Last June 19th, GE Inspection Technologies hosted a session on 3D Surface Scanning & Analysis.  The webinar was led by Paul Thompson, the RVI- Remote Visual Inspection Sales Leader for GE Inspection Technologies, a part of GE Oil & Gas. He has 25 years of aviation electrical and mechanical experience, and 16 years of Oil & Gas.  During the webinar, Mr. Thompson presented how 3D surface scanning can be employed for indication analysis on remote visible surfaces to improve safety & productivity.  Other highlights of the presentation were:
  • Case studies and examples of how optical metrology allows 3D visualization of internal surfaces on pipes, headers, welds, rotating equipment, etc.
  • Live demonstration on verification and validation of surface indications with a 3D-enabled XYZ surface map improves and accelerates the analysis process using the latest GE RVI videoscope, the Mentor Visual iQ (MViQ)

3D Visual Measurement GE 3D Visual Measurement

On March 23rd, 2016, GE Inspection Technologies hosted a session on 3D Visual Measurement.  The webinar was led by Tom Ward, New Product Development - RVI and Clark Bendall, Technical Product Leader - RVI for GE Inspection Technologies, a part of GE Oil & Gas. Tom and Clark combine for over 40 years within the RVI development and sales business.  During the webinar, Mr. Bendall presented how 3D Visual Measurement can be used to help inspectors identify, measure, and report abnormalities and defects in their prized assets.
